This season FASO continues to pilot a new education program in conjunction with its vision and programming called "Instrumental Learning: The Science and Art of Music-Making" (SAMM).  All of the performing artists for FASO's concerts will stay in Amarillo an extra day to provide an educational workshop for children, in partnership with Bivins Elementary in Amarillo, Windows on a Wider World (WOWW), and Panhandle PBS station (formerly KACV) transmission via internet.  The program is also archived for 1 year fo all classes to accesss.

Each educational workshop session consists of an in-person audience of approximately 400 students and WOWW has the potential to reach as many as 8,000+ students in the Panhandle with its live-stream provided by Panhandle PBS into all region 16 schools.

SAMM is made possible in part by generous grants from the Mary E. Bivins Foundation, the Amarillo Area Foundation, and by contributions from private organizations and individual fine arts supporters.

What a fantastic opportunity for FASO to spread the joy of music making to school children throughout the Texas Panhandle for the 2014-15 season and beyond!
