FASO is thrilled to present “The World’s Sweetheart Organist”, Dr. Carol Williams for the 1st concert of the FASO 2018-2019 Concert Season on Sunday, October 21, 2018!

British born, Carol was raised in a Welsh family with many musical influences and began private lessons at age five She began performing organ recitals at age eight. Carol’s formal training includes 5 years at the Royal Academy of Music, postgraduate studies at Yale University and Doctoral studies at the Manhattan School of Music. She was appointed the first woman “in the world” to hold the title of “Civic Organist” and the first woman “Civic Organist Emerita” as San Diego Civic Organist from 2001-2016.

Carol has circled the globe to numerous popular pipe organ venues in the USA as well as England, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Monaco, Luxembourg, Holland, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Singapore, South Korea, China and Russia, so far. Carol throws out a wide net to entice new audiences to the concert pipe organ. She is known for her collaborations with various Classical, Jazz, Blues, Pop and Rock bands and leading orchestras including the BBC Concert Orchestra, San Diego Symphony Orchestra & the Beijing Symphony Orchestra.

As a featured musician on many Blogs, Pod Casts, Radio Stations & TV News stories in America, Britain and around the world, she always highlights her profound love of “The King of Instruments”. In the United Kingdom, Carol has been elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in recognition of her contribution to Music.

Carol has performed for many special occasions including for Princes Diana, the Virgil Fox Memorial Concert in New York and was highlighted in the 10th anniversary special concert of the Walt Disney Concert Hall Organ celebration.
