FASO is thrilled to present celebrated Texas Panhandle native, Spanish-American tenor Eric Barry for the 2nd concert in the FASO 2017-2018 Concert Season on Sunday, October 15, 2017at 7:30 pm!

Eric Barry is “making an impressive mark” on opera and concert stages “with a clear timbre, evenness of projection and exceptional sensitivity” (Opera News).

His current and future engagements include a leading role with Opera Colorado, Pinkerton Madama Butterfly for the Florentine Opera Company, Lensky Eugene Onegin for the North Carolina Opera, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis for Orchestra Iowa, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 for Utah Symphony, the featured soloist on Minnesota Orchestra’s concert Inside the Classics, Fritz L’amico Fritz for Boston Midsummer Opera, and Prince Hal At the Boar’s Head for the Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw.

Noteworthy concert appearances include the east coast premiere of Dame Ethel Smyth’s Mass in D at Carnegie Hall, Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Madison Symphony, and Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, Mozart's Requiem at Washington National Cathedral and on tour with the Munich Symphony, Handel’s Messiah with Winston Salem Symphony and New Choral Society, and Verdi's Requiem with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

Eric Barry is originally from Sundown, Texas, and studied business at West Texas A&M University. While pursuing his MBA he made the decision to pursue opera performance full-time and moved to New York. Eric holds a Master of Music degree and Artist Diploma from the School of Music at Yale University. He has been featured in the PBS documentary Eric Barry: Home for Christmas, and his recordings have been aired on both NPR and the BBC.
